Privacy Policy

My Pet Memoria(“the app”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Noesis Trading Co. Ltd (trading as My Pet Memoria), a company registered in England and Wales. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who this applies to

Anyone who downloads or uses the My Pet Memoria mobile app on iOS or Android, or visits mypetmemoria.com.

2. What we collect

• Account data: your email address and a hashed password, managed by Supabase (our auth and database provider). Optionally your first name and the identity you chose during onboarding (Mummy, Daddy, or first name).
• Pet memorials: every pet you add. Their name, species, breed, sex, traits, passing date, birthday, adoption date, bio, and any stories you write.
• Memories: photos you upload and any captions you add.
• Journal and mood entries: free text reflections and the mood labels you select.
• Letters and chats:everything you write in the letters feature or the grief companion chat, plus the AI’s replies.
• Voice recordings:if you use the microphone to dictate a message, the audio is sent to OpenAI’s Whisper API for transcription and not stored by us after transcription.
• Subscription status: if you subscribe, RevenueCat handles billing and sends us only the fact that your subscription is active or expired, never your card details.
• Device and crash data: basic device type and OS version for compatibility, plus crash reports if a crash reporting tool is enabled (for example, Sentry).

3. How we use it

• To render your memorial. Your pets, photos, letters, candles and journal entries are displayed only to you.
• To generate personalised AI companion replies and letter replies via OpenAI’s API. Your writing is sent to OpenAI only at the moment you ask for a reply; OpenAI processes it, returns text, and does not retain it for model training under our API terms.
• To send local notifications on your pet’s anniversaries (passing day, birthday). These are scheduled on your device and do not send data to our servers.
• To verify your subscription state so the Pro features unlock correctly.
• We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We do not use it for advertising.

4. Who we share it with

• Supabase (Frankfurt, EU): hosts the database and user authentication.
• OpenAI(USA): processes text you submit to the grief companion, chat, or letter feature, and voice recordings you dictate. Data sent via API is not used to train models per OpenAI’s API terms.
• RevenueCat (USA): processes your subscription status. Your payment card details go directly to Apple or Google, never to us.
• Apple and Google: process your subscription payment and deliver push notifications.
• Expo (USA): hosts crash reports and delivers over the air updates.

5. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account from within the app (Menu → Delete my account), which removes every pet, memory, letter, chat, mood log, and journal entry within seconds via cascading deletion. Subscription records kept by RevenueCat and Apple or Google are subject to their own retention policies (typically 7 years for tax reasons).

6. Children

My Pet Memoria is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.

7. Your rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data (the in app “Delete my account” button does this instantly; you can also email us)
• Export your data in a portable format. Email us and we’ll send a JSON export within 30 days.
• Object to our processing, or withdraw consent you’ve given
• Complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe we’ve mishandled your data

8. Security

All communications between the app and our servers use TLS 1.2 or higher. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage. Access to user data in our database is restricted by row level security policies so that you can only access your own data. We do not have a way to read your passwords.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we’ll notify you in the app before the change takes effect. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
